Helping to close the Skilled-Trades Gap at the institutional level.
Supporting education and innovation.
We believe that skilled trades programs in K-12 schools are an important way to prepare students for careers in the construction industry and other related fields, and we are committed to supporting these programs and helping to make them more accessible to students.
To achieve this vision, we have established an educational fund that will provide financial support and resources to skilled trades programs in schools. We are working with a range of partners, including schools, vocational training programs, industry organizations, and local and state governments, to identify projects and initiatives that align with our mission and goals.
Materials for Learning
At Closing the Gap, we are committed to providing K-12 teachers with the resources to teach skilled trades in their classrooms. We’re a group of tradesmen and women that know the importance of bringing the field to classrooms so students are prepared for the jobs they’re entering after graduation. That's why we have developed an online educational platform that gives teachers access to a comprehensive curriculum, as well as textbooks, teaching guides, and videos that they can use to teach with.
Our curriculum covers a range of topics, including electrical theory, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC, and it is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the skilled trades.
Education for Teachers
At Closing the Gap, we understand that teaching the skilled trades can be a challenging task, especially for teachers who may not have a background in these areas. That's why we have developed a series of online videos and resources to help aid teachers in integrating our curriculum into their classrooms.
Our education for teachers program includes a variety of online resources, including videos, lesson plans, and interactive activities that teachers can use to supplement their instruction. These resources are designed to be engaging and interactive, and they are tailored to meet the needs of different age groups and learning styles.
Support from Our Community
At Closing the Gap, we believe that the support of our community is essential to the success of our initiative to support skilled trades programs in schools. That's why we have worked hard to build a massive community of tradesmen and tradeswomen from the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC industries who are committed to helping us achieve our goals.
Our community includes a wide range of professionals, from journeymen and apprentices to master tradesmen, instructors, inspectors, and business owners. These individuals are passionate about their work and are dedicated to helping the next generation of tradesmen and tradeswomen succeed.
“We keep talking the talk, the Skills Gap is a real problem. It’s time we all collectively do something about it.”
